Virginia Woolf

It’s a hearty welcome back to the very talented  Open Space Theatre Company, who brought Beccles an excellent production of one of Alan Ayckbourn’s finest and darkest comedies,  Woman in Mind, in May last year and a super production of Terence Rattigan’s  Separate Tables later in November.

This time, the company will be serving up another slice of mouth-wateringly good drama at Beccles Public Hall and it’s none other than  Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?  on Thursday 21st May at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton starred as Martha and George in the film version of Albee’s classic play back in the 1960s. The Open Space Theatre Company features Yves Green and Peter Sowerbutts as the feuding couple who, during a night of drunken recriminations and revelations, drag their guests, Honey (Emma Martin) and Nick (Mike Davison), into their private hell of a marriage.

Deliciously toxic, devastating, yet acidly funny. One of the 20th Century’s greatest plays. Not to be missed!

You can purchase tickets which are priced at £10.00 and £8.50 concessions, at www.becclespublichall.com or visit the Hall Box Office from Monday to Saturday, 10am – 3pm. The Hall team  are pleased to offer the option of purchasing your tickets by credit / debit card over the telephone at the Box Office on: 01502 770060.
