‘Yes’ is a celebration of the life and work of Adrian Mitchell, one of our best loved,
funny, passionate and political poets.
This specially created programme of his poems and songs – including an inspired reworking of the tortoise and the hare fable – was commissioned by The Poetry Trust and premiered to a sell-out audience at the 2009 Aldeburgh Poetry Festival.
The multi-talented cast of ten includes Adrian’s wife, actor Celia Hewitt, daughter, actor/singer Sasha Mitchell, Sylvester McCoy (ex Doctor Who and unrivalled player of the spoons), dancer Anusha Subramnaym and a live band. A triumphant, anarchic, synthesis of words, jazz and rock’n’roll.
