April 1st – 30th 2008
Get ready to Revel!
a new Waveney-wide, popular, participatory, annual celebration revealing a vast spectrum of arts and heritage activity.
…Whose Revels?
The Waveney Revels is a broad umbrella project launched by WDC’s Arts & Heritage service aiming to encourage everyone – individuals, organisations, groups, communities and businesses – to collectively reveal, join in and celebrate arts and heritage enterprise, activities and projects.
…Where to Revel:
Waveney-wide: everywhere and anywhere within the Waveney District Council’s authority area in north east Suffolk – inside and out (weather regardless). From pubs to churches, theatres to allotments, boats to balloons, unique one-off venues to familiar locations – think beyond the obvious.
Why Revel – hopes & aims:
encourage people to explore something different, go somewhere unusual, do something new.
Waveney District Council’s new Arts & Heritage Service will:
Coordinate and promote the Waveney Revels, collaborating with participants and sponsors.
Provide regional and national publicity, media press and promotional support.
Provide project advice – or help find it.
Encourage collaborative and co-working possibilities and introductions.
Help seek funding and support for projects in cash and kind from diverse potential sponsors, donors and contributors.
…How to Revel:
1. Think beyond the obvious –
what can you do that will make people ‘explore something different, go somewhere unusual, do something new?’ Then everyone – you, your club, society, organisation, business, school, venue, especially formed group – is invited to suggest bold and exciting idea(s), activities or initiative(s) for an event / project / performance / exhibition – new or traditional (perhaps with a twist) – as soon as possible!
2. Send an outline of your proposed event(s) / idea(s) etc.
by email or post – with following vital details:
