A range of activities for young people are being held in the Beccles and Bungay area – with a new ‘un; Plugged’ music session being launched on 19 November 2012.

Un; Plugged will be held on alternate Monday nights from 8pm to 10pm at Bungay Library and will give young people aged 13 to 19 the chance to take part in contemporary music sessions using vocal and percussion fusion.

The sessions, being organised by The Voice Cloud, are open to anyone between these ages and will give you the chance to learn production techniques, how to play a ‘cajon’ (a drum in a box) and build a multi-layered track using vocals and percussion.

No experience is necessary and the sessions are free after Beccles & Bungay Safer Neighbourhood Team PCSO Deborah Green worked to secure funding from Waveney District and Suffolk County Councils, and generous donations from Roys of Beccles, M&H Plastics and Suffolk Police Authority.

A variety of sports and non-sports activities have been organised with the funding, including, in Bungay, the music project and Boxercise for girls every Thursday 7.30 to 8.30pm and for boys Friday 7 to 8pm at Switfitness Gym, where both sessions are free.

Limited places are available for the Boxercise sessions – please contact Ian Swift on07771 897368 to reserve your place.

In Beccles there is netball and football every Wednesday, 7 to 8pm, at Lower Leman School Castle Hill, Beccles on flood lit courts and more activities are being planned.

Young people are welcome to take advantage of these new activities and you can just go along for the Beccles sports and Bungay music sessions.
