Beccles gets into gear for

Bike Week!

Beccles Cycle Strategy in association with Bike Week is pleased to announce their events for Bike Week 2009 from Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st of June.

The Beccles Cycle Strategy have organised 3 cycling related events in and around the Beccles are to encourage local adults and children to ride for good health and fun during Bike Week.

Dr Bike is the first event planned for Saturday 13th June at 10 am – noon and will be held in Exchange Square, Beccles. This will be a great opportunity for children and adults to have a free bike safety check and to receive a free bell.

A Seaside Special ride to Southwold is planned for Saturday 20th June by the Beccles Come and Try it group – that’s CATI for short. So come and join CATI and friends at 10.30am, Pinetrees, Park Drive, Beccles for a lovely ride along the quiet lanes to Southwold for lunch on the pier and ice – cream on the promenade!

A “Pedalling Picnic” of approximately 10 miles is planned to round off the weeks’ activities on Sunday 21st June at 11am meeting at the Sports Centre, Ringsfield Rd, Beccles for a gentle ride around the quiet Ringsfield area. Families welcome. Please bring your own refreshments and picnic.

CATI – Come and Try it RIDES

The pace of all Beccles CATI rides will be determined by the slowest rider. The rides are designed to be sociable and light offering the opportunity to people coming back to cycling after a break or aiming to gain confidence.
