Artists in Norfolk and Suffolk who have experienced mental distress are being invited to submit work for an inspiring showcase to be held in Norwich later in the year.

The exhibition, called Fruits of the Mind, is supported by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with The Well, a group of artists with mental health problems.

Artists, both amateur and professional, are invited to submit up to two pieces of work for sale at the event – which takes place at The Forum in Norwich between 13 and 15 September 2012 – to be seen by a potential audience of around 20,000 people.

Work must be dropped off, along with a completed application form, at St Clement’s Hospital, Ipswich, care of Jenny Brabazon on 21 August 2012, or at Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich, care of Rachael Kenyon on 28 August 2012. Application forms can be downloaded from www.nsft.nhs.uk.

Artwork can be in any medium but should be appropriate for a public audience. All work should be framed, labelled and ready for hanging. The aim is to show at least one piece of work from each artist submitting work.

Artists can keep the money from sales of their work and will have the opportunity to collect unseen or unsold work after the exhibition.

People who would like to submit a piece of art but may have difficulties in doing so are encouraged to contact Rachel at Fruits of the Mind on 01903 611002 or email [email protected].
