Carers Events 2016

Dear friends and colleagues

Welcome to 2016 and thank you for all your support in 2015.

Our program for 2016 is listed below and we already have requests from some of you to join us at each event.  As from this year, all four events will be annual in both Carers Week, and the first full week in October.

If you would like to join us and put your name on the list for either a half or full table, please email me at [email protected] letting me know which event/s you wish to attend.

Our Care for Carers Events 2016 are:

The Norwich Forum
Monday June 13th and Monday October 3rd.

Shrublands, Gorleston
Wednesday June 15th and Wednesday October 5th.

Table space is free at each event if you are a charity, or an organisation that depends on funding.  As most of you will realise, we like to accommodate as many organisations as possible at each event, which means, if you are able to manage with a half table please say.

Parking at the Forum is available in the car park below, and is chargeable; cash or bankcard can be used to make payments.  Most bus services into Norwich stop either in Theatre Street, Red Lion Street, Castle Meadow and Saint Stephens, or at the Bus Station in Surrey Street.

The Shrublands, Magdalen Way, Gorleston, NR31 7BP, (Near the Health Centre) has plenty of free parking on the field to the left as you drive in, and has a regular bus service, “No 8”, which travels between Caister and the James Paget Hospital, it stops outside.

Care for Carers signs will be attached to the fence either side of the gate.

Although our name is Care for Carers and we call our events “Carers Information Days”, we like to help Carers, the Cared for, Older People, the Lonely and the Vulnerable, in fact, anybody with any problem we can’t help on the day, there will be someone who knows someone somewhere who can.

A while ago I broke my wrist, and in the mending program I had to do exercises.  So while doing the wrist exercises I thought I’d try to tone the whole body up and lose some weight at the same time.

Because of the wrist business, I couldn’t hold a pack of flour or sugar so I used dumb bells, below is a link with a brief description of the sort of exercises I did which I copied from the BBC Program, “Trust me I’m a doctor”, and they’re “easy peasy”.

I lost 1½ stone until Christmas, “OK Yah!” so I’ve got to lose the 3lbs I put on over Christmas.

“Good Luck” when you try it, and please don’t give up, it’s well worth the effort, even if just to tone the muscles up.
