Carers Information Days 2016
Dear friends and colleagues
Thank you for passing on my last email to people in your address books, and also to those who have already sent in a request to join us.
We have had so many requests from organisations who have not been with us before it looks as if Carers Week 2016 is going to be a record.
Our events for Carers Week 2016 are filling up with requests. To date, the Norwich Forum is 70% full, the Shrublands in Gorleston is 65% full, and our other events for October in the same venues are both 33% full.
Once we are full, as in the past, I will put you on a waiting list so if for any reason someone drops out, you will be able to fill the space. Please be aware, this could be a last minute job.
Monday June 13th – The Norwich Forum
Wednesday June 15th – The Shrublands, Gorleston
Monday October 3rd – The Norwich Forum
Wednesday October 5th – The Shrublands, Gorleston
If you would like to join us at any of the events above, send your request to [email protected] with:

Whether you need a half or full table – don’t forget the Forum tables are huge.
In the past I have had people ask, “Can I have a table at the event?”. What event etc., is not mentioned, and that causes me time finding out, and time for me is in the essence.
Thank you for your understanding if I sound demanding, although getting better, I have not been well since late October 2015, and Care for Carers is a 24/7 job that has to be done no matter what.

Below is a request sent to me by the Marie Curie organisation
Hello,
I am getting in touch to let you know of a new service that might be of interest to you if you are caring for someone with a terminal illness.
The Marie Curie Helper service matches trained volunteers with families or individuals to provide terminally ill people and/or their carers with the following support:
Companionship and emotional support
Practical help (with small tasks, running an errand or getting to an appointment)
A break for families and carers
Information on further support
Continued visits for up to three months after a bereavement
At Marie Curie we’re here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Our service is free of charge and currently we have volunteers across Norwich and Central Norfolk.
For more information please call 0845 830 0221, email [email protected] or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/helper
Thank you.

Although our name is Care for Carers and we call our events “Carers Information Days”, we like to help Carers, the Cared for, Older People, the Lonely and the Vulnerable, in fact, anybody with any problem we can’t help on the day, there will be someone who knows someone somewhere who can.
“Together we are Strong”
