The Memory Garden at Carlton Court near Lowestoft will be extra colourful this summer thanks to a £1,000 donation from the Carlton Colville Poors and Allotment Trust.
The garden has been designed to help bring back some wonderful memories for service users at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s (NSFT) dementia in-patient unit, and as a place for their carers and relatives and Trust staff to relax in.
For many years Carlton Court has had close links with the Poors and Allotment Trust, a charity which provides grants to the elderly or disabled in Carlton Colville to assist with winter fuel payments and has supported the Memory Garden in the past.
Carlton Colville Poors and Allotment Trust chair, Peter Dyer, who is also an NSFT carer governor, said: “Each year our charity is allowed to donate the interest on its shares to a project that gives something back to the community. The Memory Garden provides much enjoyment not only to those who live or work there but to Carlton Colville as a whole.”
