Elvis
Simon as Elvis

The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll will be leaving audiences all shook up when he takes to the stage next month to raise money towards a vital information and support centre.

Elvis Presley, otherwise known as Simon Goldsmith, plans to hit all the right notes when he performs at Halesworth Golf Club, in Bramfield Road, on Saturday 26 March 2016.

All profits from the evening will be donated to Halesworth Community Nursing Care Fund (HCNCF) and ploughed into the ongoing campaign to raise £714,000 for the centre, for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in north east Suffolk and south Norfolk.

It is the second time Elvis has performed at the club in aid of the charity.

Ben Townsend, manager of Halesworth Golf Club, said: “We always try and support our local charities, and are delighted to be holding second Elvis night in aid of HCNCF.

“Our last concert was really well-supported and everyone had a fantastic time. We hope to replicate that success on March 26 and would encourage anyone who is a fan of the King to pick up their ticket and help make sure this charity event goes with a swing.”

The ISC aims to bring a full range of holistic services closer to home for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers. This includes benefits advice, wig-fitting, children and family support, complementary therapies, help understanding a diagnosis, counselling and bereavement support.

The appeal has now raised more than 70% of its target, with the current total standing at more than £555,000.

Ted Edwards, ISC chairman, said: “We are really grateful to everyone at Halesworth Golf Course – and to Elvis himself – for choosing to support our charity once more. We hope that as many people as possible come along on the night and enjoy excellent food, music and entertainment while helping raise funds for this vital local facility.”

The concert runs from 7.30pm until midnight. Tickets are priced at £15 for members and £17.50 for non-members and include a finger buffet. They are available from the clubhouse bar, or by calling 01986 875567.
