your wellbeing in mind

Every year millions of people make New Year’s resolutions, why not start off this year by putting your mental wellbeing at the top of the list.

The Norfolk Wellbeing Service is running free taster workshops in the January, to encourage people to find out how to manage and prevent common mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and depression.

Throughout January these workshops will be run at venues in Norwich, Dereham and Cromer. Those attending will not need to speak about their issues during the workshop. It will simply be an opportunity to sit back and hear about some helpful techniques to cope with these symptoms.

You don’t have to be stressed, anxious or depressed to benefit from these workshops. It can help you to find out how best to prevent or manage these thoughts or feelings and stop them from building up in future.

The Wellbeing Service in Norfolk and Waveney provides a range of free psychological interventions including one-to-one sessions, telephone based treatments, talking therapies, self-help techniques, counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy to people who are low in mood or experiencing anxiety.

Nesta Reeve, Clinical Lead for the Wellbeing Service who delivers some of the taster sessions, said: “This sessions offer an opportunity for people to come along, either on their own or with a friend or family member, to find out about the Wellbeing Service and see what it has to offer that might help them.

“At the end of the session people can choose from the range of help available and directly book onto further workshops on the day, or they can choose to access one of our standard assessment sessions.

“The aim is to put people in the driving seat to access the help they want at a time that suits them.’
