Celebrating Suffolk’s success stories
Healthy Ambitions Suffolk

Members of the public have been invited to attend a prestigious awards ceremony to celebrate some of the most exciting health and wellbeing projects taking place across the county.

The Healthy Ambitions Suffolk awards 2010 will take place on Wednesday 8 December at Trinity Park in Ipswich, running between 4.30pm and 7pm.

During the ceremony, the significant work which has taken place to improve health in the county’s schools, businesses and communities will be recognised when gold, silver and bronze awards are presented.

In addition, the event will look back at the initiative’s main achievements to date, before turning the spotlight on some of the community health projects which have benefited from Healthy Ambitions Suffolk grants. Comedians Ken and Dave will give a slapstick performance on food and nutrition, while a raft of information will be available about health walks, sports, cycling initiatives and a range of other activities taking place across the county.

Dr Peter Funnell, chairman of the Healthy Ambitions Suffolk board, said: “We are inviting people from across Suffolk to join us on 8 December to celebrate some of the county’s most exciting health and wellbeing projects.

“We will be recognising the important work taking place in our schools and businesses and presenting awards to the inspirational people who are making a real difference to the health of their community.

“During the event, we will also give more information about our exciting plans for the future of Healthy Ambitions Suffolk while encouraging everyone to get involved and help us make the project even more focused and significant in the future.

“Spaces are limited, so I would urge anyone interested in coming along to get in touch quickly to avoid disappointment.”

Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. Anyone who would like to attend should email [email protected] by 26 November to secure their place.
