Mother’s Day treats raise funds
for children’s mental wellbeing

Foster carer Rachael McCall is holding fun-packed pamper evenings for Mother’s Day to raise money for the mental wellbeing of children and adolescents in Suffolk.

She is organising beauty parties throughout March and April to raise money for Connect – a mental health service for looked after and adopted children – in appreciation of the treatment given to her foster child.

Connect is part of Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust’s children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). CAMHS provides specialist care to children that suffer emotional, behavioural, attachment or mental health issues.

Rachael, mum of three and a director of an East of England training business, said: “I’ve been foster caring for four and a half years and can see that the benefits of the therapies given by Connect are vast. The care and attention to detail from the team in Bury St Edmunds has been fantastic and in particular from art psychotherapist Annabelle Gray.

“Children that have experienced great difficulties at a young age, need extra support and care when coming to terms with what they have been through and Connect offers this.”

“The support that has been given over the past two years has resulted in a hugely positive outcome for our foster child but also for us as a whole family I want to acknowledge this by dedicating some of my own family time to raising funds for the work that they do.”

In partnership with her mother-in-law Carole McCall, founder of Diva Stores, Rachael will be running Diva Beauty Parties in March and April.

The parties offer free pamper treatments on the night and give ladies a chance to sample the range of beauty products that Diva Stores offers (www.diva-stores.com). All the products featured are ethical, organic and/or fair trade and any purchases on the night will assist Rachael in raising funds for CAMHS.

If you would like to to help raise funds for CAMHS and host a ‘Mother’s Day Diva Beauty Party’ for your friends and family then contact Rachael on 07540 667103 or e-mail her on [email protected] to request a fact sheet.

Or if you yourself would like to work as a consultant to earn extra cash for yourself or the charity then call Carole McCall on 07920 017917.
