Norfolk Recovery Partnership (NRP), the new adult drug and alcohol service for Norfolk, will be holding open days at its drop-in centres across the county to celebrate launching earlier this year. 

The service commissioned by Norfolk County Council’s Norfolk Drug and Alcohol Partnership (N-DAP) launched in April 2013, providing a recovery focused service for anyone affected by drug or alcohol either personally, as a carer, family member or friend.

The open days will take place on Friday (12 July) from 10am-3pm at NRP drop-in centres in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Thetford and King’s Lynn. Anyone is welcome to attend the open days to find out about the new drug and alcohol service in Norfolk, look around your local drop-in centre and meet the team based there.

Norfolk Recovery Partnership offers a single point of access for all its services delivered by the partner organisations, prior to this drug and alcohol support was provided by separate organisation and charities in Norfolk.

The partnership brings together Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust’s Alcohol and Drug Service (TADS), The Matthew Project and Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners’ Trust (RAPt) to provide integrated, seamless services within the community and Norfolk prisons.

Information events for offenders will also be held during the week leading up at the three prisons in Norfolk (HMP Norwich, Wayland and Bure) where the partnership provides substance misuse services.

Denise Grimes, Service Manager, said: “Having one drug and alcohol service across Norfolk has made it easier for those wanting help or support. Bringing it together in one service with one telephone number makes things simpler, as you don’t need to think about who to phone or if you have the right number.” 

The open days will take place at the following NRP drop-in centres:

• Norwich – 7 Unthank Road, NR2 2PA 
• Great Yarmouth – Willow Centre, Northgate Hospital, NR30 1BU 
• Thetford – Breckland Business Centre, St Nicholas Street, IP24 1BT 
• King’s Lynn – 5-9 Chapel Street, PE30 1EG
