NHS Suffolk rated “good” in national report

Patients in Suffolk have received a “good” service from their local NHS over the past year, according to a national report published today by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Suffolk was rated as “good” in both categories – for the quality of the services provided and for financial management. This report is the most comprehensive assessment of the NHS undertaken, and includes ratings for every NHS trust in England.

These annual NHS performance ratings give a detailed picture of how the NHS is making progress on issues that matter most to patients – such as infection control, waiting times and access to services. Each of the 391 NHS trusts in England received a rating ranging from “excellent” to “weak”.

Carole Taylor-Brown, chief executive of NHS Suffolk said: “This report reflects our commitment to do the very best for Suffolk people. In the past year we have completely turned around our financial position, we have taken steps to improve patient safety and we continue to improve the overall standard of primary care services for people across the county. Patients in Suffolk can be assured we are committed to continue this work into the future.”
