A team of doctors and nurses are cycling from Cambridge to London for the meeting and making the most of the fitness challenge by raising money for CORE, the national UK charity that funds research into all the diseases of the gut, liver and pancreas. Fellow gastro team from regional hospital Addenbrookes will also be hot on the tyres of our gastro team as they also undertake the same mammoth challenge.

Jane Cook, NNUH Gastroenterology nurse said: “Every penny we raise through the cycle challenge will support research into digestive disorders.  CORE is the only national charity fighting all of these diseases which collectively are a factor in 1 in 8 UK deaths.  As a department, we feel that the more we raise, the more we can do. Many members of the team are not avid cyclists with three individuals purchasing push bikes especially for the trip!”
