Opportunities to volunteer in mental health

Members of the public are invited to a launch event to find out more about the volunteer service at Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The volunteer service is being re-launched on 13 May 2011 from 2-3.30pm, in the main hall at Hellesdon hospital.

The launch event is an opportunity to meet the people involved in the volunteer service, find out how to get involved with your local mental health Trust and help support the NHS.

Roz Brooks, Director of Nursing said:

‘The volunteer service will give service users, carers and members of the public the training and support, to volunteer their time and skills, to really enhance the service provided by the Trust and benefit the wider community.

‘It is also hoped that the volunteer service will help reduce the stigma relating to mental health across Norfolk and Waveney.’

At the launch event speakers will talk about the benefits of volunteering and how to get involved.

Speakers include the Voluntary Services Manager at Norfolk & Norfolk University Hospital NHS Trust, Chief Executive from Norwich Mind and the Senior Manager for Voluntary Norfolk.

Refreshments will be available at the event. For further information or to book please call Pene on 01603 421580 or email
