Maggie Wheeler has been reappointed chair of Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust after accepting an extension to continue her vital role.

After 1 January 2012, Ms Wheeler will become chair of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as the Trust merges with neighbouring Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

Ms Wheeler said: “I am honoured to be reappointed by the governors to serve as chair of the merged Trust. I am looking forward to getting to know new colleagues in Suffolk, and being a part of making the new joint Trust work.”

The Board of Governors believe that Ms Wheeler will help provide stability and support by remaining in post after the Trust merges.

Maggie added: “I am so proud of everything we have achieved over the last few years, and I’m really pleased to be part of the Trust’s future.”

The popular reappointment will see Ms Wheeler in the hot seat for a further two years until 31 December 2013.
