SeaChange Arts ‘Out There!’

SeaChange Arts have put the finishing touches to the line-up for the Out There International Festival of Street Arts and Circus 2011, and with acts coming from over 10 different countries this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever!

Acts confirmed for the festival include a satirical comedic clown from Germany, a hilarious acrobatic duo from Sweden, a trampolining gymnastic troupe from Belgium and a jet propelled thrill seeker from Austria.

Now in its 4th year, the Out There Festival is the largest free festival of its kind in the region. The majority of the festival programme will take place in Great Yarmouth’s St George’s Park on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September, with shows also being performed in the town’s marketplace and along the seafront.

Out There 2011 will include some highly anticipated performances from some world-class acts.

The fantastic Plunge Boom will be making an appearance with their interactive ‘cooking’ show. They will be inviting the children in the audience to help them create a variety of disgusting dishes to feed to a hungry troll in order to keep him out of mischief.

Another act sure to get Great Yarmouth talking is the phenomenal ‘Mario, Queen Of The Circus.’ Fresh from a 4 year world tour with famous culture show ‘La Clique,’ SeaChange Arts are very proud and excited to welcome Mario to Great Yarmouth for the first time

This year’s event will also include the triumphant return of the brilliant Les 3 Points De Suspension who proved to be a smash hit at Out There in 2009, and who will be performing their bouncy stilt show ‘Mr Baryton.’

The Saturday programme will end with an evening seafront spectacular. The headline show will come from leading UK contemporary circus company ‘No Fit State Circus,’ who will be performing a breathtaking new show commissioned specially for the Out There Festival and the ZEPA Partnership.’

Other shows not to be missed include ‘The Witch’ by traditional Breton Dance Champions Eostiged Ar Stangala, and ‘Bread and Circuses,’ which will feature a group of local young people showcasing their circus skills alongside professional circus performers.

Chief Executive of SeaChange Arts, Joe Mackintosh, says ‘We are really excited to be holding the 4th edition of the Out There International Festival of Street Arts and Circus. We have lots of spectacular, unusual and world class performances planned for this year from amazing companies such as Magmanus, No Fit State Circus, Les 3 Points De Suspension and Cirq’ulation Locale. Over 500 local people have also contributed to the festival programme and will be appearing in several of the large scale festival performances, including Fest Noz and Bread and Circuses. We are really looking forward to seeing the results of all their hard work.’

The Out There International Festival of Street Arts and Circus is free and will take place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September 2011.  Further information will be available over the next few weeks from www.seachangearts.org.uk
