SINGING FOR YOUR WELLBEING

Anyone with an interest and basic talent in signing can learn how to run highly therapeutic singing workshops. A one-day introduction about the training available to become an accredited Sing Your Heart Out (SYHO) facilitator will be held on 2nd November. The day will include personal case histories of the positive impact SYHO has had on service-users and staff by lifting their spirits through singing.

Chrissie Parsons – West, voice coach for Sing Your Heart Out said “The singing sessions help to increase confidence by using music in a therapeutic setting. One lady flew over from northern Ireland for the last course!”

The award-winning project began in 2004 with the support of Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. SYHO has been such a success the singing sessions are now held in the community in Norwich and Kings Lynn for people to sing for their mental wellbeing.

The Norwich sessions are held in The Phoenix Centre every Monday starting on Monday 12th October 2009 and the Kings Lynn singing workshops will begin on Thursday 22nd October 2009 at the Gaywood church rooms. Please visit the SYHO website for more details at www.syho.org
