There’s still a chance to get on board the Suffolk health bus

It’s not too late to get your health checked out as NHS Suffolk’s health bus continues its tour of the county.

In the last four days more than 2000 people have boarded the bus to receive a wide variety of information and advice from health experts.

And, in the next few days, the health bus, which is a partnership project between NHS Suffolk and Pfizer, will be stopping at five more Suffolk locations.

Olive Quinton, NHS Suffolk’s health improvement facilitator said: “We have had a tremendous response to the health bus so far, and we have been able to help a lot of people get started on improving their health and wellbeing.

“People have been asking all sorts of questions on diet, fitness and exercise and our health professionals have been able to advise on how they can live longer, healthier lives.

“Young people aged 15 – 24 are getting free and confidential checks for Chlamydia and our smoking advisors are encouraging people to quit the habit.

“Our health checks for those aged 40 – 70 have been extremely popular, with more than 300 people already taking up the offer of a free check-up.

“Over the next few days we will be in Newmarket, in conjunction with Forest Heath District Council, as well as Haverhill, Ipswich and Sudbury.

“It’s not too late and I would encourage everyone to come aboard the NHS Suffolk health bus.”
